I had an message on screen telling me my Freeview box needed re-tuning. I've had this before so I went ahead. Now I wish I hadn't. First of all I'm still getting the same message. Also a lot of the programmes are freezing/pixelating. I'm also getting the message 'The receiver is not receiving a signal or the signal is too weak' on some channels. Non of this happened before the re-tune. I've done the re-tune three times now and also re-tuned the tv but all to no avail. Anybody else having any trouble?
Some of the retuning required throughout this year (on different dates across the country, depending upon which transmitter signals are being received from) is because of the need to accommodate 5G mobile phone signals. As a result, in order to avoid interference to those phone signals, the strengths of some Freeview transmissions have had to be reduced.
Hm, I haven't noticed any change in the channel No's or order. Just the stupid 'not working now like it was before the update/re-tune'. It is a pain though.
Yeah you def need to re-tune, I re-installed mine and all the no.s I'd memorised all gone... it comes up with a shopping channel for eg. really annoying... I'm sure to look fetching wearing a long blouse skirt,
retuned last week, all i did on my samsung was make a favourite channels in channel list, so i do not have to see qvc and all the other channels im not interested in.
