My grandsons iPad not working what can be wrong? When you go on to any app it just goes back to home screen. No matter what you go on to FB or messenger eBay or games. Just tap app comes on then immediately goes off back to home screen.

Too much stuff running in the background? Double click the home key and swipe up all of the running apps to close them (maybe count how many there are while doing it). Press and hold home and power buttons until it turns off and restarts then try again.

Maybe a full reset is needed Giggsie,or could the memory be full? To do a reset go to settings, a full 'factory reset ' will erase all your data and anything else like games, if you're going to do it then make sure you back up on iCloud first
