I've been in love with Greta's mum for years. Now it's out there ;o)
One of Sweden's best mezzos. Here she is with the best known tune from Handel's opera Rinaldo.
Take a moment to let this wash over you.................

That's another recital staple, Lady B. Often sung by sopranos as well as mezzos.
Different again, sung by a countertenor.
I've been watching the recent Covent Garden production of Marriage of Figaro, directed by David McVicar. That has a countertenor singing Cherubino's part. Great production.
The Builder, thank you for that, she has a beautiful voice and so effortless. Grandpappy mentioned Sissel Kyrkjerbo who is, in my opinion, in the same class. She is also Scandinavian, there must be something in the air. She is a soprano and this interpretation of O holy night is superb.
Builder, except for myself and a good friend of mine, you are the only other classical music lover I know who is not a fan of Maria Callas. We used to sit listening and pick out the flat notes. Thought it was fun at the time:-(
Vulcan, Sissel is glorious. Thank you I'll pass it on to friends.
