Mozz - // Cant someone explain why people feel such anger and resentment towards them? //
Anyone in the public eye, for whatever reason, is doomed to have a persona created for them by the media.
Depending on the status of the individual, and vitally, the prevailing mood of the readership, this will be tailored to fit. By 'tailored to fit', I mean a combination of spin, ruthless editing, and occasionally simply presenting gossip and rumour as facts.
For example, if you are a target of the Mail, whose readership is middle-class gossipy racist snobs, then poor Ms Markle is going to get the rough end of the stick. Thus the media position that Harry and Meghan are 'snubbing' the Queen about Balmoral, which is highly unlikely, as is the 'reason' for them declining an invite, that their baby is too small to travel.
If you someone like Katie Price, then someone in OK! Magazine will be re-inventing you to the point where you simply don't recognise who they are writing about.
The reality is, we get the media we deserve - the trick is to be aware of why they write what they write - the veracity of it can largely be ignored.
