It does make one wonder, wonder if anybody actually has a handle on the problem.
Might we be looking at a march of the viruses, more than one on the go, each taking advantage of the success of the others?
We might actually just be flailing about in the dark just now and too proud/stupid to admit it.

iluvmargie. It seems that mankind has thoroughly focked up this world, filled the oceans with plastics, the air with microplastic dust (wild birds are dying of it), and now seems heading for suicide.
Viruses don't plan and plot together. Whilst there is likely to be multiple ones around at the same time they ain't all going to make headway at once. No marching.
They don't literally plan and plot but some kind of interaction or overlap could be going on.
Nobody actually knows much about what's really going on, if they did the the Prime Minister might not be lying in intensive care tonight.
