testicular cancer?
5 Answers
Hi i was just wondering today, every show on tv and "checking yourself" info says to feel for a lump, but what constitutes a lump? I'll get more in depth here so if your easily offended etc DONT READ! i think im pretty normal in that department but i was feeling and theres a lot going on down there, tubes, b***s and blubber around the tubes, it feels that way anyway. But basically i was wondering, is a lump obvious? because its all quite squidgy and if there was a lump it might just squish away and leave you thinking hmm, or wuould it be more like a ball bearing attached to the side?
I know thats quite confused but its late and i just thought id ask for the good of mankind

When you shower or have a bath, just have a general feel around that area,if you notice any change at all then go to the doctors, it might only be a slight change but if it feels different, then get it checked, I hope naz comes on here because he has been through this, but don't start worrying, not enough blokes do check things are ok, Ray

hi boink, i can't actually answer your question - cus I'm a girl!
i was just wondering - did you see that program last night about the lady (sally?) with breast cancer?
It's just that it got me thinking about me and my husband checking for lumps too.
I think your question is great - it's the same for us ladies - how do we know what constitutes a lump? How hard do you feel for one? Would it be really obvious?
I hope someone answers your question soon. x

My hubby, after watching one of those programmes about testicular cancer, checked himself and found a lump. He also realised that certain other symptoms they mentioned were present - urine leakage, back passage pain, erection difficulties. The fact that his father died of bowel cancer didn't exactly help matters.
He went to the doc, who sent him for tests. The lump is benign and has actually disappeared. His problems are mainly to do with irregular blood pressure, which is helped by tablets (just one a day). All clear and he's feeling better than he did before his 'scare'.
If he hadn't gone to the doc's, he'd never have gone about those other symptoms. They'd have probably got worse and he'd have been worse of than ever.
