Virgin V6 Box

Virgin tells me it is impossible to download recordings from the V6 box to another hard drive or other storage method. I don't believe them and need to do it as my box is due to be changed shortly.
Any idea how I can do it?

tune your vcr into the v6 box and record whilst it is playing whatever you want

Well they aren’t lying to you. The only way to get recordings off is to play them and use some sort of recording method, on a previous V+ box I used a video capture dongle to a computer.
