What is the difference between ceramic, halogen and induction?

very briefly, ceramic has a coiled element underneath a glass ceramic hob. Halogen has halogen lights underneath the glass ceramic hob and the heat is instant unlike the coiled which you have to wait a minute or two to reach full heat. An induction hob creates heat by using copper bottom pans to create a circuit. Not sure of the workings but no heat is generated on the actual hob. To demonstrate this you can put a piece of paper between the hob and the pan and the paper will not catch fire but the contents in the pan will be cooking!
