I like ..... your mind ( Klute 1967, difft circs in fact)
give me your number and we can ..... assumpt .... together
Bact - the st petersburg diphtheria outbreak in Manchester was written up in the Lancet. ( guess where it came from and went to).
and THEY said ring immunising cases had led to faster diminution in the pathogen far FASTER. They stuck their pencils in their mouths and thought - - and came out with
the toxin is coded on extra DNA (*)which the vaccine lacks - and so even if the bacterium is non-lysogenic, there is an energy cost certainly of translating the now useless toxin or of skipping it which puts the pathogen at a disadvantage compared to vaccine
cleveuuur huh? hence my surprise at the idea of vaccine prolonging carrier status
AND the ref 1958 showing it wasnt even the vaccinated person doing it ( salk didnt revert) but someone affected ! which is hardly carrying to you and me

// why this thread has suddenly moved to comments regarding diptheria (caused by a bacterium)//
yeah technical - I did do a "crazy PP warning"
BUT in your rush to complain: "foo wot all dis abart den !"
you missed
the paper that said and supported the idea of carrier status might NOT be affected by vaccination ( oo er Mrs!) was a 1958 paper concerning polio vacc inj NOT in the sufferer but his immediate family and the polio victim went on excreting virus.
which to my mind does NOT allow them to say 2020 that mass vaccination may not decrease excretion of raw virus in an inoculated population
I agree points like this makes the average AB reader's eyes go like a pin ball machine
The diphtheria example - I just wanted to show people I read and understood random papers in the Lancet - no no - it shows a counter example of a vaccinated population unexpectedly leading to accelerated elimination of a pathogen.
I mean no one is reading this: the big picture is that the big picture doesnt change
