on the news, that steve irwins death was caught on camera? He was filmed seconds before death desperatly trying to get the stingray's barb out of his heart. It will be used for coroner purposes but how long do you think it will be before it's being shown on the bbc? surely they have respect for his family?

perhaps he would have seen this as a way to warn others about the possible dangers of stingrays, and indeed other seemingly docile and harmless creature - that though they are generally harmless, they can still kill, and therfore they should be treated with the same gravitas as a croc or shark or whatever.

i'd like to know if the ray did this on purpose because he was bothering it or whether he just got in the way.

i completly agree joko, i read that he was swimming on top of it, closing it in. So it was agitated and stung him, the barb going in. His family have reportedly given consent and its the same kinda thing when they showed ozzy osbourne near to death. As long as everybody gives consent then it's a sort of educational issue. But i still don't think i would tune in.

I would like to see the footage to see how the crocodile hunter lost his life in they way he did and if it was him getting to close like he does or if it was an accidant.

Its typical steve irwin to want it shown,thats the type of person he was, the family have always known how he is and if they want it shown,then good for them,its their decision and what steve irwin wanted,dont like it?Dont watch!

I agree with electricblue, I for one will be watching it, it has happened, and nothing will change that, and Steve would have wanted people to see it, whether as a warning, or just as a natural progression of his work.

Not so much a morbid fascination, but a respect for the bloke and his work which has always entertained and educated people. I think the thing that came across most in his programmes was his enthusiasm for what he did.
