JJ i watched the first one a long time ago, it was quite funny in an odd sort of way, a woman completely useless at being a mum, until i saw the second episode and realised it was pretty bad. I gave up after that, its just not funny, its not supposed to be, but observational at the life and times of these strange characters. i wouldn't watch the third episode, 2 was enough.

oh ok - I'll not bother emmie as I did think that first script was poor.
yes, sadly the actors good that they are, work with poor material, i found the second episode cringe making.
I love it. So comical!
in the nicest possible, i dont think you two are particularly the target audience. as a mum with a child about the same age i find it sometimes hilarious as it strikes such a chord
my friend who is a mum to two young children,
didn't find it remotely funny, after i told her about it. I did as i say watch the first and found it quite amusing, but the second was dire.

Aaaaarrrrr - because we are childless emmie. wee wee wee
i can understand it, but its just not my sort of thing.
i don't mean it in a horrible way, - the playground politics strike such a funny chord, and if you've never experienced thatit's probably less funny :)
i thought my friend would really like it, seeing as how she sort of fits the type of woman, juggling everything, and not always getting it right. But as i said she didn't, perhaps for her, like me it wasn't funny in a comedic way.
All the characters are well drawn by good actors, and from many years of sitting on PTA's fairly true to life. I found the first few quite funny but then began to find it irksome and repetitive- but then I'm getting on a bit too. I'd think the modern Mums would find it amusing
I've watched it on and off over the years but not on a regular basis, there are some funny parts that strike a chord.
> there are some funny parts that strike a chord

An umbilical one?
it stars one of favourite actors Anna Maxwell Martin,
Maybe not quite that far back Ellipsis :-)
We quite like it
I like it, and my son is now 30.
I recognise the ‘alpha mum’, Amanda, in my playground set. Such a cow!
I discovered this last year and really enjoyed it. Trying to watch the new series but struggling a bit.
I love it, children are now in their 40s and never experienced playground politics but it's very funny, some of the 'types'
exist in life generally. It's almost Mumsnet for the TV!
