ok toureman, been to your link and i still dont know if you are being serious or not. i have read and learned from you other posts but this video does not tell me about the red key ! .......or am i having a dense moment ? ( no im not blonde....as they say ! ) lmao
So many people ask a complicated question about their car but make it un-answerable because they never give any details about their car, all cars are different.
If they give enough details I always try to give them a proper answer as you know.
A question like this one could be answered by a quick tele call to a garage that sells these cars, we still do not know what car the saint has, I sometimes give a silly answer to silly questions.
If the car is a Ford, then the red key is the only key that allows you to program a new black key to the car. If you loose it the only way to get another key for the car is a costly visit to a Ford dealer.
Toureman, you are out of order. Red keys come with many different kinds of car, I just wanted to know what the significance of this type of key was, that's all. If you can't be bothered to answer a perfectly legitimate question, don't post at all. Now do you know, or don't you???
I thought with most cars as long as you have one original key, you can code another for the electronic immobiliser.
Might just be cunning idea, so if (like me) your spare key is in a draw somewhere at home, along with a load of other things of dubious importance, you don't throw it away without trying to figure out what it is.... red mean stop!
