the film has a very strong message and one that a lot of people miss, its not schmaltzy nor does it preach the gospel, the whole idea of what would happen if one didn't exist is very profound, and i for one watch it on that basis.
yes a great message that every life is very important no matter how insignificant you might feel
indeed Johnny, and those that don't like the movie as stilted, miss the point entirely.

It is perfectly possible to understand the point of a film, while simultaneously disliking the film itself and the way it is constructed.
I never cared for it either years ago or now.
Personally, I take exception to the notion offered by some posters, that because I don;t like the film, for reasons expressed, I either lack the intellect to understand its message, which I don't, and that I have no 'soul' required to appreciate it, which I do.
We all operate on differing wavelengths and there's nothing wrong with that.
They should a remake where everyone gets on fine without him!
a-h @13.25"...some posters..." I trust you are not referring to my 22.51 post yesterday where I typed that you and I have "different souls".
You should know better than to misquote or try and mislead.

I wasn't.

// You should know better than to misquote or try and mislead. //

I do.

But as a point of interest, why should I 'know better'?
I like IAWL, it's akin to A Christmas Carol, similar message, I love the Jim Carrey cgi version most of all, though I am a Jim Carrey fan, watched Liar Liar again just yesterday, brilliant.
a-h, one could be accused for reading some of your posts and perceiving them to show you have a holier-than-thou attitude.

For example "Personally, I take exception to the notion offered by some posters, that because I don;t like the film, for reasons expressed, I either lack the intellect to understand its message, which I don't, and that I have no 'soul' required to appreciate it, which I do."

Less than one hour after that you post a thread saying that Goodlife and others are "soulless". Hmmm.

I've never seen it, just found it on Prime, free with ads... Will have a go.
Ah well, managed 24 minutes.
Pixie , well you should have watched it all
Then you would have understood what the film was all about
I like it a heart warming Christmas film and have seen it it quite a few times, (Ma Loves it and Blithe Spirit) as for production it's simple, and telling a story.
its a very good film, and has a very potent message, i love it.
