If it is one you have just taken on, then try to get into a routine, and make sure it is given very opportunity to get out to wee etc. such as last thing at night and early in the morning.
There is no reason why a Chihuahua should not have lots of exercise, they really don't need to be carried about like you see many owners do.
Exercise is probably the best way of solving many doggy problems.

Sorry should have said, when you let it out, stay out with it, until it has done something (sorry for calling it 'it' but you don't say if its male or female). Lots of praise if it does do something outside. Try to ascertain what it has been used to doing, i.e. was newspaper put down for it, if so try doing this but restrict the area to a small place near the back door. Has it been used to a cage? They usually don't like to soil their own 'den' so maybe somewhere of their own to sleep might help.
I have had her since she has been 6 wks old...I have other dogs that are house broken...She will go outside everytime I let her out and sometimes she even goes to the door when she wants out...Its not a everyday problem but sometimes she does wet in our bathrrom...I take all food/water up at nite and the last thing I do is let the dogs out..She is taken out first thing in the morning. Its not that im lazy and dont care. If I didnt care I would never have asked. Thanks for your responses.
I thought that was funny Briar..that is what is posted. Funny how one missplaced letter or comma can do you in.

I would wonder when this started? she is 9 after all, make sure a urine check is done by a vet.
