Now that Novak Djokovic's participation in the tournament is no longer a possibility, the men's title will probably go to either Daniel Medvedev or Alexander Zverev - Nadal on his top form would be a danger, and i know he's just won down under but his injury and illness will surely take their toll if and when he comes up against the top players. The prices of the aforementioned players do not appeal to me (7/5 and 12/5) so i'm concentrating on the women's title for my early bets.
My idea of the winner is two-time Aussie Champ Naomi Osaka @ 6/1. She took almost a year out because of her well publicised mental problems and she wasn't too convincing in her opening match (just 51% first serve success and 28 unforced errors in her 6-3, 6-3 victory). Hopefully that was down to lack of match practice and, just as hopefully, she will improve as she progresses.
A viable e.w. shot is Paula Badosa of Spain - currently on court versus Australian Ajla Tomljanovic. Having won the Indian Wells tournament last year, she is currently ranked 6 in the world and should any of the big guns falter, she could be the one to benefit.

£10 win Naomi Osaka @ 6/1 - Willy Hill
£5 e.w. Paula Badosa @ 16/1 - 365

The ladies final begins in a few minutes and Ash Barty (1/5) will win. She has yet to drop a set and will probably win 2-0 (4/7). However, jut in case she is slightly off her game and just in case Danielle Collins can raise hers to a new level, i'm having a fiver on;

Ash Barty to win 2-1 @ 3/1
Question Author
Ash Barty won the first set 6-3 but then managed to find herself 5-1 down in the 2nd! Thought i was in with a shout and even considered going in with another fiver, this time on Collins. However, Barty began to fight back and at 5-5, i cashed out for £6.02p, making myself a healthy £1.02p profit. Yay. Bartly won the 2nd set, and the tournament, on a tie break in that 2nd set, the fight having gone out of Collins.
If Collins can improve on her serve - just the one ace against Barty's 10 - she can be a force to be reckoned with in some of the lesser tournaments.
Congrats to Barty - Seekerz will be pleased:-)

I was undecided about whether or not to have a punt on the men's final (tomorrow but as i've just received a free £5 bet from 365;

Daniil Medvedev to win 3-1 @ 3/1
Thanks Ken - very pleased and delighted for Ash, her demeanour both on court & off makes us all very proud :))

Brilliant final involving two players at the top of their game. Congrats to Nadal, now (statistically) the GOAT.
Incredible match - hope you had a few bob on Rafa to win :)
Greatest Grand Slam final I have ever watched.

Disappointed with the reaction of the crowd, not only in tennis but other sports e.g golf and football.
