amazon tell me if it's gone up by more than 10 % since i last bought it (subscribe and save)
I woud think that they would expect you to notice any price rises when you select the items.
What shops
So the price has increased between putting the item in the basket and checking out?

What shop, what sort of item and how big a price increase?
Question Author
It was Sainsbury's.
Various items, considerable increase.
Are they telling you that "regular" items (ones that you always order) have increased since last bought?
How long between putting in the basket and checking out?
Doesn’t seem normal but it seems like a nice touch. Good on Sainsbury’s for letting you know.
I've not done online Sainsbury's since last year, but yes I'm pretty certain you pay the price that's current when you check out.
Had similar once while shopping on the Internet. Company refused to honour the price displayed when I'd selected the item, so I didn't buy it from them, nor anything from them since. Their loss. I may be just one customer but if everyone did the same then they'd stop trying it on.
