The Government are giving them £1Billion to host our secret services’ Cloud data. Not sure if it was a competitive tender, or whether Priti read a good review and made the order.

we've got sovereignty, we can hand our secrets to anyone we like. The next generation Snowdens will pass them on to the world.

The KGB would probably offer to do it cheaper – giving them the same access as data stored on Amazon cloud.
....yeah but they can't decrypt it if they wanted to. The customer can supply their own encryption. We had to go through an exercise for Japan and Switzerland before we could move our data to the US.

I use AWS (Amazon to store all my photos (encrypted of course).
I use iCloud to store my data, and I use BackBlaze for my backup.
All hosted in the US, but I don’t have any state secrets to protect.

Hmmm. Probably wouldn't bother attempting for your Bank but another countries secrets?
well possibly, not gonna say anything is totally uncrackable but they'd be better off infiltrating GCHQ and getting an authorised UID.
Suppose some Chinese State-backed company decides to buy Amazon.......
makes no difference.
It's all about taking back control :-D
