You would think that the British government have got better things to sort, would you not? They are now considering going back to Pounds and ounces.
Have they no Idea or even considered what confusion it will create.

We've been educating kids for god knows how long in kilograms, most older people have got to grips with it or just learned to live with it, so now just throw a spanner in the works.
God knows how much it will cost all sorts of businesses to make changes, an expense most could do without.

What does Boris turn to, pounds and ounces. Well that certainly puts things into prespective and solves the problem.
"knickers in a twist" is the imperial version...

Mind you the way Boris thinks, may be this is his answer to the present inflation. :)))))))
A pound of spuds is cheaper than a kilo, sandra !
I wouldn't be surprised if this move triggers a wave of jealousy within the EU leading to a wave of nations exiting the EU just so they can start using Imperial measurements too, or even better make their own up.

The next move will be forcing wine merchants to put a bakers dozen in a case of wine. That should keep number 10 rocking until the early hours. :))
Piggy, 20.59, it’s my version. I wouldn’t have a clue what the cockney version is…or if there is one.
Why do we need 2 threads to cover a simple development? I have posted on a ghost thread, so will paste it over. We are out of the EUSSR now you know. No need for triplicate or duplicate measures .

""Do you all remember the wormtongue soothing words when it was declared, that amongst other things characteristically British, the Crown stamp on draught or optic glasses was to be made unnecesarry due the adoption of the new and exciting EUSSR identification mark? The weights and measures that had served us well and stood the test of time, even passing down into everyday language as defining markers would also have to be abandoned. The new and easily understood manipulators tools were going to make our lives so much simpler, and we were getting upset over nothing for asking why and how? It really was only a small thing and a slight shift after all. Notice how the reverse slight shift, promised in no small part due to public opinion and demand, to re deploy the trusted Crown symbol and to actively encourage the use of our inherited weights and measures is suddenly a very big thing indeed. Despite not being officially in use for decades, the very hint of reintroduction is now a very big move indeed.Meehh. The remainiacs and anti British have not gone away, they remain to poison our self esteem and regard for each other and can be easily identified.""
Ofgicially returning rights to the people *is* something well worth doing.
Officially !!!!
They might want to finish with weights and measures to focus on the scales of justice, or lack of it.
