I've just noticed this ad, from TotalJobs, at the top of a page here on AB:
https://www.totaljobs.com/job/tarot-psychic-operators-work-from-home/livelines-job96298908?WT.mc_id=A_BA_CRI_TJ_PR_UK_UK-TJ-Pros-all-Context-Jobseekers_C23

I see that the company is 'regulated' but who, I wonder, regulates psychic readers? Is it Ofghost, perhaps, or OuijaWatch? Or is it all down to the spooks at MI6?

Surprised the job needed to be advertised. Any psychic worth their salt would have known there were vacancies.
Businesses like this should fall foul of advertising standards legislation, but I think they are not covered by it.
The previous one was told to collect her cards ...

Atheist:
The company's 'get out of jail free card' (which, to the best of my knowledge, isn't in any Tarot pack) is in the small print of their website. After telling you just how much you need one of their Tarot readings, and how wonderful they are, they add this in their small print: "This service is for entertainment purposes only"

An excellent point, I think!

LOL @ Ellipsis ;-)
I predicted this ages ago Chris.
They put that disclaimer on television shows involving ‘psychics’ too.
Might suit me. I've got medium reading skills.
I thought perhaps the psychic company might be advertising their services to the public. But I think the regs exclude that sort of stuff from regulation, uunfortunately.
I wonder if there's money to be made by offering predicitions about whether or not you go to heaven.
Bookies used to take bets every year on the world ending/Jesus returning.
He'd have been a bit peed off if the double came up.

I've got a photo of you, Anne ;-)

LOL @ Spicerack ;-)
Psychic and clairvoyant are (unsurprisingly) not protected descriptions in the UK so I could call myself either or both of them.

They have to abide by legislation that applies to someone charging for a service and there are also guidelines administered
by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Phone-paid Services Authority (PSA) which regulates premium rate services.
Mrs Clarion would easily walk into this job as she knows EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING, I tell you. EVERYTHING! :o) And she makes a nice cup of tea! ;o)

Surely ALL women know everything though (or at least think they do), don't they, 10CS?
