Cash Refund ??
I had my holiday in 2020 cancelled because of covid. i accepted a voucher for a future holiday.
After re booking for 2021 that was also cancelled due to the "red restrictions" in various countries, that was again re issued in voucher form.
This year my partner was diagnosed with bladder cancer, his op was successful and things are looking ok. I wrote to my holiday company requesting that " under circumstances " i would prefer a cash refund for now until we are certain we can continue normally with our lives again.
their reply was " your partners condition is not life threatening and therefore on this occasion we cannot offer a refund, however your voucher is valid until sept 2023"
My question is, " can i actually have my cash back if i so desire??" thanks in advance. .

Think positive, Ibizaboy! My cancer is incurable (but fortunately, at the moment, 'under control') but it's damned well not going to prevent me from continuing to enjoy my life ;-)

I suspect that, by having initially accepted a voucher, you've lost any right you might have to an automatic refund. (Health issues are normally covered by insurance, rather than through any liability on the part of the travel company). So you might be out of luck. Sorry!

Hi Buenchico. thanks for the reply. It,s not the end of the world i know, but i firstly was angry that the basic reply was "is not life threatening" most cancers can be life threatening you never know if it will re occur again.
There,s no flight involved this was a train holiday package with a reputable company. just disappointed that they couldn,t help me out for a year or so. we don,t fly so they know we will book with them again ( as i told them) . never mind, fingers crossed we get to go before next september.
