I know, many were in favour when my last employer tried to foist it on everyone. But sensible folk, such as myself, had bought homes within walking distance of work, so there was nothing but disadvantage and being taken advantage of. But the biggest thing wasn't the dumping of legitimately company owned expenses onto employees, and the expectation that they must turn part of their home into a workspace; it was the loss of human contact, the getting out of the house and meeting colleagues: and electronic communications using one's own computer and one's own broadband is definitely no comparison. Where was the discussing the odd small issue with the person next to you and asking for opinions ? Where was anything that made the job more than a slog ? Even a return to the commute would be preferable.
