I have received two messages on my mobile phone stating NHS Alert and telling me I have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive and to please order a free test by visiting an https: link. I have been nowhere and seen nobody other than my covid free daughter and her family. Is this a scam to get me to log in to the link and if so what is they could gain fro my doing so?

yes, it's a scam
Perhaps they will ask you to order a test kit from them (at a price) then they will have your bank details.
Why would NHS know you and your number--- unless you have the contract tracing turned on. Scam. they'll probably want a £1 postage fee so take your bank details and before you know it theyve took alot more
It's 99p for postage. Sounds better than £1.00 . Got this scam yesterday 1 day after get my 4th jab.
definitely a scam, I have had it , block the number and don’t open the link
How would they know you have been in close contact with a COVID positive person?

Track & Trace ended ages ago.

It's a scam and I've already had one of these myself.
oh! I just deleted mine and thought - I thought they had stopped all this
thx TTT
saved one there!
NO - I sent it & you are in imminent danger. Click on the link immediately!
Yep, defo a scam. I was taken in at first as a friend has covid - so I did a test anyway - but I didn't press their link, thankfully!
I too received this last week and just deleted it. So many scams around these days.
I had the text yesterday. It takes you to an NHS page but the links on the page don't work.
