Just watched the drama on ITV X.
I started out finding Helena Bonham Carter not really believable - she's far too beautiful - but by the end, she had completely taken me over, and I loved every mad minute of the whole thing.
For viewers of a certain age, Crossroads was compulsive television - nineteen million tuned in to watch it.
Yes it was often hilarious - because of tight schedules there were almost no re-takes so errors had to stay in and be broadcast.
The plots made American soaps look Pinter-esque with their outlandish story lines.
And this drama really did get into the character of Noelle Gordon so well.
She was a fantastically self-important woman - when she attended dinner functions, people were forbidden from smoking until she left the room - only royalty normally get that level of deference.
But as the drama revealed, she broke ground in many areas of television, and was a heroine to millions.
If anyone else has watched, what did you think?

Mainly because it was on shortly after I got home from work and was preparing a meal in my pokey little flat (more of a glorified bedsit - one large room with kitchen and bathroom partitioned off, and I could see the TV from the kitchen). I worked for a TV rental company at the time so rented a decent model with a significant discount.
I thought it was broadcast live, because of things like Amy Turtle forgetting her lines (but your tight schedule explanation covers that).
I had a bit of a crush on one of the girls, but I'm not prepared to expose myself to ridicule by revealing which one.
I don't have a TV at the moment so didn't see tonight's prog.
