Did Neil Armstrong really walk on the moon or were we all conned ??

Err....... rocks brought back from the moon were found to be the same age as the Earth, CT.

In fact, exactly like basalts found on Earth, however, since there is no atmosphere / water on the moon, they were totally unaltered (unweathered) since their formation.

Apologies if I wasn't entirely clear with what I meant. This site probably explains what I was trying to say more clearly. http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/geotime/age.html The oldest rocks on earth are younger than the lunar rock brought back.

Just as an aside, I have had the pleasure to examine a sample of some of the moon rocks brought back from one of the Apollo missions, and also examine them in thin section under the microscope.
Apart from looking like fresh terrestrial basalts, you can't help that feeling of "oooh!!" when you're holding them in your hand!

Nice brachiopod. My mate got a couple of meteorites a couple of years back. Not quite the same 'oooh' factor, but impressive nontheless.

There is no wind on the moon, but wind was not required to get that effect with the flag.

Come up with something better, please, or sod off back into the garden.
