I have just had to put on a coat to go and potter round the garden...on May30th!

The world's gone mad.

Well, according to Ventusky, it's 16 here with a perceived temp of 12.

(How do you do a degree sign, please?)

But...imagine if in many countries this May had been the hottest on record
Not 'many' NJ but:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/may/07/vietnam-records-highest-ever-temperature-of-441c

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/5/29/shanghai-records-hottest-day-in-may-in-100-years

Nature has a way of balancing these things out.

p.s. I have yet to be convinced that GW is the result of mankind's intervention since the industrial revolution.
just write 'deg' tilly.

Good idea, Zac. :-)
The usual hyperbole on this thread..."freezing", "roasting" etc.
Really?
Tilly,

One way with Windows is to use the alt key and the numerical keypad on the right. Hold Alt key down and press 0176 °
I'm in Hove Actually and it's about 15 deg here. Stiff breeze and sunshine. I'm freezing. Icy cold legs and feet and got 4 layers of clothing on. Not on legs though.
Had to come in from the garden for a long cool drink. 17 degrees here today - loving it.

What is your problem?
We are not all in peak health and that can make a massive difference as to how you rate when it's too hot or cold. For one, too hot, for another too cold. We have to deal with it.

Thank you, FoxLee. I'll try that.
Alt 1760 = Ó ????

That doesn't seem to work.

It's 0176 - you transposed some figures.
It has been cool in Norfolk too. Today it is cool and cloudy with the sun trying to break the clouds.
June 1st and still freezing - we've had the heating on for the past 2 days.
Had to put extra blanket on bed last night, heater on full blast in the car this morning. Heavy cloud, cold wind grrrrr
Due to hit 22° here today.
Hot here again today, as yesterday. No doubt beach will be packed again doubly so with the gawkers.

Mustn't say scorching though must I, but it is :-)
//I'm in Hove Actually...//

Love that, ladybirder. I always use that term when mentioning your town. Lots of people know why it's referred to in that way, but many don't - actually :-)
