How Do I Tell My Mum This?

I got a new job in home bargains as my job cut my hours but I haven't told my mum yet. I'm starting in home bargains and working in current job part time.

Abbey, I'd always prefer my daughters to be open and honest with me.  If your mum does ask if 30 hours aren't enough, are you going to tell her the truth?

Would your mother not see you dressing up for your interview, ask where you were going, etc. or would she be at work herself?

Abbey - I could forgive my daughters almost  anything except lying to me, this is said very seriously.  You seem to know that your mum will feel that you have let yourself down and that you also feel that you have let her down by so doing. 

She'll be supportive if she knows the exact fact, I'm sure.  This is why you need to be  honest with yourself - and her - about why you find it had to hold down jobs.  I wish you very well.  If one of my girls came clean about her problems I'd be right there on her side helping - and expecting her to work with me to solve the problem.

You're 30 or thereabouts, Abbey.  For goodness sake, stop acting like a child who can't tell Mummy he/she's done something wrong.  At one point, I did three jobs in a week - no problem and I enjoyed the variety!
