As a follow on from my 'old age' question, it's often said that youth is wasted on the young.  Is it?

No!

Naomi, I'm pretty sure that, in my youth, I had no concept of 'tomorrow'. Something of a cliché now, but I just remember living in the moment.

To now present oldies with the benefits and privileges of youth probably wouldn't go well. Going back to being better looking and physically indestructible would be a disaster. We'd just take all our acquired arrogance, wealth, and experience and be quite unbearable.

It's a nice thought, but I don't think I could trust myself. 🙄

Your quote is normally attributed to GB Shaw, but I think Oscar Wilde was on the money when he said: 'I'm not young enough to know everything'.

Anyway, I'm with the old chap who maintained he was simply approaching middle age........  but from the opposite direction 😄

Oh, yes, it's wasted.  I do wish I had the energy and fitness now to carry  ideas and projects..... I was too 'busy' when young and now I finally know what I should be doing with my life (writing) - I have little time.

No. You can't put an old head on a young body.

yes! No one warned me 18 is a peak, and I would have done some many more felonious acts as a juvenile, really acted a fool.
