Hi, every day, twice a day for the last week or so I have recived a silent call.... On caller display it shows as a 0800 number, but when I 1471 the number it is completly different. I really want to ring the number, but am a little worried that it is a premium rate scam..... I just want it to stop. Hapens any time day or night and really freaks me out....just me and the kids here! What would you do?

Hi, phoned Bulldog who were able to tell me where the call originated from....So being less scared I phoned them and was met with a recorded message that allowed me to have my number removed from their marketing list!!! How dare these people be allowed to do this in the first place these call were begining to upset me....and I wasn't even given the chance to have a go at some one ;O{ ....Just traced the company on-line MCIWORLDCOM LTD and it turns out they were connected to a previous company that I have had problems with...Caudwell Communications, so maybe they just pass on our numbers to p*ss us off?
Thanks for your help

The silent calls are usually marketing or sales calls made automatically by computer but, apparently, the sales team dont always keep up with the computer automatically dialing out and so you just get silence!
The Telephone Preference Service should stop a lot of them but you might still get the stupid one's who try it on by starting off 'This isnt a sales call...' when obviously it is!

Hi Cas! Long time no insults exchanged ;0) Hope you're well. Am I right in thinking the Mrs is pregnant? If so, hope that's all plodding along nicely. xx
Sorry Lisa, back to the topic.... I still get a few silent calls but they are actually nothing to do with sales, the site seems to work really well. Glad to be of service xx

You could always get an answerphone and leave it to screen all your calls, thats what we do. Salesmen dont like speaking to answerphones!
