Same for the 20 odd Labour ones standing down  Gromit?

Not really newmodelarmy.

Labour MPs are not defending a really bad record over the last 14 years, and are expected to increase their votes, not lose any.

I find this quite amusing. They're all off.

I agree with Richard Osman on HIGNFY tonight. Sunak is desperate to lose the GE so he can go off to America. And who could blame him really?

ghastly man. good riddance.

He's done nearly 20 years in the HoC, I think he's earned a break.

Slime bucket.

A whole array of prime ministers thought he was talented enough to merit a ministerial position.

At least he was an Aberdonian.A aerosole Aberdonian, truth be told.I dont think i ever met him in any of the pubs i went into in Aberdeen.Thankfully.

He was extremely unpopular when he was education minister. Obnoxious, was the word I heard used many times about him.

However, I think he did really try to help all those affected by the cladding scandal; something that is still going on, but like lots of Tories, he can see that the light at the end of the tunnel is definitely a train coming the opposite way.

Gromit 21.31  Spot on 🤣There's your best answer. Douglas.

how very convenient that mr gove's principled decision to retire from parliament should come just a few weeks before he expects to lose any position of power and influence in the government. i'm sure it's just a coincidence.

He's going to be no loss. He lost all cachet when he tried sticking the knife into Boris' back.

PS - an MP standing down doesn't mean that their constituency won't elect a successor from the same party. just sayin'

gromit: "The AB community who have been blindly supporting this ragbag of idiots, loons and talentless wasters can now see those protagonists go out on a wimper. " - do you have any experience of a real Labour government gromit, a REAL one not Tory lite?

Yes thanks.

Once the TINO are gone, perhaps the real Conservative party might emerge ?
