You cannot earn enough at Selco based on  10 hours a week. You will never be able to save, pay your way and move out or afford holidays or a car.

The job you've been offered seems to be paying roughly 4 times  as much. It'll make a huge difference financially. You'll learn new skills and improve your chance of progressing your career. Take it while there is an offer. Give it 3 months to see if it's working out and save up as much as you can. Also pay back your mum some money and offer to pay a reasonable amount for 'keep'.

I wouldn't turn down this new job just in the hope you get the warehouse job. You may not get the warehouse job. You may NOT be able to do it even if you get it.

I know I haven't even been offered an interview for a warehouse job I'm just saying should I keep my options open? I have also been told if my heart is not in it don't take it but who knows.

I know I've said this before, Abbey, but some people do jobs they don't like and/or work with people they don't like because they need the money

Question Author

I get that but what if I get offered other interviews

Abbey, I think that you need to accept that any job that suits you and your current skills and abilities will be at minimum wage. Don't forget that minimum wage will be going up come April...so that is a pay rise to look forward to.

Abbey, you mentioned recently that you'd applied for loads of jobs and weren't even getting any interviews. Yes, this warehouse job has come up, and maybe other opportunities will come along too - but you'll need to be very realistic about the skills you have to offer. There may be jobs you would like, but that counts for nothing if you haven't got the ability or the experience needed. The last couple of years must have shown you how tough job-hunting can be?
