People have left recently and had a leaving do.

Abbey, you can have a leaving do - go out with your friends there - but that isn't the point.  Do you want really this new job?

Question Author

Im just nervous and hope it goes well.

Question Author

Don't know how long you gotta be there for so selco pay for the drinks

Abbey, I think you'd have to be there quite a long time before Selco pays for drinks.

Abbey, you're bound to be nervous - everyone is nervous starting a new job.

And nervous about telling my mum

Why?  What do you think your mum is going to say?  She's your mum.  She's going to encourage you to make your life better, isn't she?  That's what good mums do.

Question Author

Maybe that I can't keep job hoping.

She might say you need to keep a job but she will know that 10 hours is not enough.   She'll probably be really pleased you've managed to get a full time job.  Just tell her, abbey.  You've done well to get it.

Question Author

I didn't tell its as short at 10

Your mum is correct. Job hopping is not a good thing as your CV will reflect that you do not stay in a job for long and future employers will ask why. It is up to you to show that your are the right person for this new job. Listen carefully to what you are told. Make notes that you can study at home. Accept your schedule and do not ask for changes too often. It's a new store so no one will have seniority, you will all be equal. Now is your chance to prove that you can be a valuable employee

She knows you don't work full time though.  Just tell her you've got a full time job.

Question Author

She takes me to work so will have to tell her before she goes away.

Abbey, you seem to be turning lots of minor little 'problems' into issues - I don't have an envelope, Boss A wasn't in today, how do I tell my mum? etc. Why not concentrate on the fact that for the first time in a long while you now have a full-time job, in a place where everyone will be new (so you can all settle in together, you won't be the new girl)?

Don't think about the leaving do yet. (I'd be surprised if they paid for drinks though after 6-8 months working 10 hours a week- maybe they'll pay for 10/35ths of a leaving do based on your hours. )

Question Author

Also hope it not to stressful because of my health.

Abbey, yes, your health problems/issues must be quite stressful - but you seem to give yourself an awful lot of worries at times, may of them relating to very minor things!

if working 40hrs a week in a shop is harmful for your health, what job/how many hours do you ACTUALLY want to do i wonder.

You already have your parents enabling your feckless lifestyle.  you either have to sit back and let them or do work.

With the greatest respect Abbey, there are people out there and on here that work fulltime with far greater health concerns.

Perhaps you need a reality check.
