I have a friend who has just recived 3 points on his licence, do his insurance company need to know this or would he declare it at his next renewal. Dose he risk voiding his ins by not declaring his points, by the way this friend has just phoned me to say he has just had an accident. Ta very much for takeing the time to read this.
You should declare all motoring convictions immediately they are imposed. Most policies have this as a condition. If you wait until renewal (which, after all, could be up to 364 days following the conviction) you run the risk of the Insurance Company voiding your policy. They can do this retrospectively and you will be driving without insurance. And guess what that can lead to more penalty points or maybe disqualification!
