I am not asking for any answers but would be grateful for confirmation (or otherwise) that the following letters are correct for 3 down ... Y?U?G ?E?L?I?
Not yet able to finalise this answer, so would be grateful for this assistance.
Thanks pega - I thought it must be something weavers but I just don't have any ideas. I have tried most of my search sites but nothing. :-( Hopefully some else will come up with a clue. I'd got - Treacher.

Hi jools. Sorry but was away for supper and a look at the news.
Re 43 across try Googling 'Broad Linen Tape.' It's right there - the first answer.
I know you don't want the answer, and Pega has actually got it, but read for yourself.
Thanks O-ice - Yes I don't think pega could have read my post properly, I am sure they would have given clues if they had but still I will read about it. I do like to do the research and not just get the answer. I have learned such a lot from this site. (and probably forgoten a lot too.) :-)
Many thanks, sarumite for your clue, and I must admit 24 hours away from it proved very useful - I looked at the letters and thought 'of course, Colonel Blimp!!' But I still have lots to go, so I'll probably be back cheers Steff
