im looking to upgrade from a 35mm camera to a digital slr. right now ive got a canon eos rebel, and was considering the new canon eos digital rebel xti. does anyone have any opinions on this? can anyone recommend any better brands/models? thanks.

The Nikon range (D70s/D80, D200) are perhaps better for certain things, such as build quality. But the Canon range, 350D, 400D, etc., are great cameras anyway. If you have several lenses with a Canon mount, then you may wish to keep using them with your DSLR, and thus stick to Canon.
