He can't make you stay if you are ill, everyone is entitled to sick leave its in your contract (you do have one don't you!)

He should be pleased you made the effort to get in in the first place. If he point blank refuses fake pass out in the front of him and he will feel really bad then!!

Athley is right. If you are ill then you are entitled to go home. Just tell him that you feel awful and that you're going home. Then leave.

Tell hi you have just thrown up in the toilets and you are not sure you can make it there the next time as you are still feeling queezy. Then do the crying bit make a show of blowing your nose and coughing hard should help.

good point dolly - if you really had flu, you wouldn't have even been able to get to work, let alone do half a day!

and if you have got flu or even just a cold, why did you go in in the first place?

do you realise how many people's christmases you could be ruining by spreading your germs around and making them ill??
