Had the best meal ever
3 Answers
I got up at 11.30 because my beloved looked after the baby after the pressie opening and let me go back to sleep. Then I cooked the most beautiful banquet I've ever tasted, somehow.
Can only blame the ingredients. Did my goose with nothing but love and lots of tipping out of fat. I even forgot to put salt or herbs on most of the vegs as they were cooking.
At the very last hour, I was still wondering what to do with the tin of chestnuts I had bought from Sainso's. Was going to just heat them up when I checked the Internet and came up with adding a diced apple, onion, 4 slices of chopped up bread and 3/4 pint of chicken stock to create what ended up being the star of the show. To say it went well with the goose and the red wine we had would be understating it.
I am so happy the meal went well. I was so relaxed about it all, and it tasted better than anything I have ever done before.

The more we fuss, fume and worry the worse things become, don't they? We also had a very peculiar Christmas dinner as everything finished cooking at the same time, I carved the turkey in slices instead of shreds and didn't have a row with my husband! Even my son commented how calm the day was - most peculiar :-)
Happy Boxing Day!
