I was doing a rookie job trailing a high-flying journo who said she didn't believe in clairvoyancy and she wanted to expose Christine as a fraud. Christine was alleged to be working for the govnmt, M&S etc in a hotel. C warned me that I should go to my doctor re a serious illness (and pointed out the exact point of the illness), which turned out to be true. I had it treated and have survived, which I would not otherwise. Of course, I give most credit to the hospital doctors, but also wanted to thank Christine, but when I called the hotel they said she had been thrown out thanks to negative publicity. I found the whole episode quite strange, but Christine said that she would not have given on any positive information or vibrations to the journo I was following as she did not believe.
I once arranged for a local tarot card reader to come to my workplace and do readings for me and 4 of my colleagues - we ordered dinner and were prepared for a night of fun. We knew it was sheer entertainment, but wanted to see if she ("Madame Claire") hit any nails on their respective heads.
Madame Claire pulled up in a lovely Mercedes. Business is good, we thought. One by one she did readings in one office while we ate and gabbed in the adjoining office. As hostess, I volunteered to go last. One by one my colleagues came out, faces in various shades of ashen. They were all told by Madame Claire not to reveal anything she told them.
After more than 2 hours, it was my turn. I think ol' Claire was just tired by then. Despite my in-plain-sight wedding ring, she told me to not lose heart, I'd soon find the man of my dreams. I told her that my husband of more than 10 years would be delighted to hear that! She then told me I was "blocked," and she couldn't get a reading. She told me if I came to her studio for a series of readings and star charts, I would get answers to all my questions. Yeah, right. I thanked her, paid her, and chocked it all up to ***** and bunk. Hey, at least it only set me back $25.
Two days later, the local paper reported that Madame Claire had been arrested for fraud and taking money under false pretenses. She had bilked some little brains for more than $30,000 worth of readings and star charts. The Mercedes was confiscated.
Ah, show business!
