Help Me I'm going crazy!
3 Answers
We had three cats that get along very well. We recently took in a male Maine **** that has a great personality considering he was apparently homeless. We started feeding him and when the weather started getting cold we took him in. We keep him fixed and try to keep him in our family room in our basement. He wants to go upstairs all the time to be around the other cats. One of the other cats is a male and the Maine **** approches him and he runs and the Maine runs after him which I think is just beingplayfull since he is about two years old. We have a small female seal point that is fragile and he wants to chase her . When he catches her he doesn't try to hurt her but it scares her terribly. I'm up in arms on what to do to help settle things in our household where they all get along. Any suggestions? I'm about to pull my hair out. We don't want to put him out for good because my wife and I have big hearts, and he really is a basically good cat.

Unlike you this cat lives in my mum's "bedroom" and is very happy and contented to be there, her other two cats know she is there but have they have yet to meet eye to eye so to speak, I keep saying to mum let them sort it out who's boss and things should settle down, up until now it hasn't happened, I keep saying to mum that it's not healthy for her or this cat to be up stairs all the time. HAve you thought about rehoming the cat. I know you will be fond of it now but have you no friends that will take him in and spoil him rotten!! that way you could still see him but not have the worry of one of your cats moving out!!
I found a kitten in a wheelie bin once and he was adorable and I really wanted to keep him but my cat didnt like him. It was a difficult decision but in the end I rehomed him with someone around the corner and now when i see him he seems so happy. I made the right decision

I would try spraying good old catnip everwhere and the cats will love it that much it will take their mind off fighting/being scared. It will make them playful and chilled - it is worth giving it a try - I find it invaluable for many problems.. Can't fault you for being so caring and taking it in : 0 )
