parking fine

My daughter got a parking ticket whilst parked on my driveway the problem was that the back end of the car was protruding about 2 feet on to the pavement altthough I know this was wrong and the fine is paid would a letter from the council or a knock on the door by the person issuing the ticket been more appropiate we were in at the time must have sneaked up and done the dirty deed your comments please

im afraid that is the way they work,also it avoids any confrontation.sly,but theres not a lot you can do.

Given that the chances are that they're on commission or at least have a target, you're suggesting that they ask you to move not give a ticket and take the hit?

Not going to put bread on the table is it?

It seems a suitable case for a word of advice, but sadly jake is probably right. I just hope they are putting as much effort into catching those who deliberately park with two wheels on the pavement.

Where we live most of us have to park on the road because there are no drives or parking spaces. Most of us park their cars with the two wheels on the pavement to make ways for traffic because the roads are quite narrow. Some even park the whole car on the pavement, which I thought it was a nuisance.
So are we breaking the road rules?

In most all circumstances It's an offence to park/obstruct the pavement,even with two wheels
I hope the person who uses the full pavement as their personal layby has someone use it as part of pavement and walk across the top. About time some motorists showed more concern for Mothers with prams,invalid carriages and the blind and if they have to use part of pavement,then at least allow enough room for people to get by
