Went into my local Argos store today, there were two people taking orders but there were four people processing the orders. Why then were the queues getting longer?

It doesn't take the assistant on the tills much longer to process a 'multiple' order than a 'single item' one but the staff in the back will have to look in lots of different places to find all of the goods which have been ordered. If this happens, 'processing' can't keep up with 'order taking'.

I have found my local Argos branch getting worse and worse. The time we have to wait for the item(s) seems to get longer each time we visit.
I though the whole idea of the set up in the shop was to remove the effort and TIME of wondering round a shop ?.
Now, once customers have paid for their items, they all stand huffing and puffing at the pick up counter !

i have a solution to the argos problem ... dont go in argos. It works for me.
on your general point though, i agree sometimes yu just wqant to cry for example when i was in mand s cafe the other day there were 4 people clearing tables, yet none of the tables ever seemed to be clear .... when i was waiting for my cooked brekkie in tesco, there was a 15 year old taking the orders, putting your stuff on to the plates then telling the egg cook how i wanted my eggs, leaving everything else to go cold on the plate whilst they cooked the eggs.... how angermafying! (especially as all the people had to then wait behind me, have these people never hard of systems of work????)
