Volvo's Any good?

Have just brought a Volvo estate and was wondering if they were any good or am i going to be hated by the rest of the motoring public when i drive with no concern to other road user's(only joking!)

We had a v40 and I loved it to bits. The boot was like a tardis. It drove well but it was an older style diesel turbo and a bir sluggish if you did not drive hard.It does unfortunatly give you this slightly indestructable feeling though!!!
It never went wrong and was not too expensive to service. Mr W sold it in favour of a bmw tourer. I WANT MY VOLVO BACK.

we used to have a Volvo 240 as a firms runaround not a bad car to drive and had no mechanical problems at all ideal work horse

You will not be hated by the rest of the motoring public, that's the job of BMW drivers! You will however be hated by motorcyclists, who think Volvo's are the work of satan.

As a biker I can say that Volvos are not the work of Satan, it is the drivers of Volvos who having indestructable feelings being in one that are the work of Satan.

I had a Volvo 240 estate for 10 years. When I gave it to my son it had 220.000 miles plus and it is still going strong but a little tired on hill.

oh Toureman that is a bit harsh. I have the upmost respect for bikers and alwars pull over to let them past. Not all of them give a thankyou wave either but it doesnt stop me doing it the next time.

We've got one of the new(ish) C70 hardtop convertibles. I love it! Great car. We have also had a couple of Volvo estates as courtesy cars when ours has been in for little warranty problems. Both were turbo diesels and they absolutely flew! Couldn't believe the acceleration.
