I was watching a programme on TV yesterday on cheese and it said dont put your cheese in the fridge. As it will lose it taste. I didnt no this did you?
I think they mean keep your cheese in the fridge to keep it fresh but take it out between half an hour and forty five minutes before eating in order to get the best flavour. If you leave it out all the time it will go off quickly and be somewhat "sweaty".
This is yet another bone of contention over EU regulations which say that cheese must be kept refrigerated in pubs, cafes, and restaurants.
So when you order your ploughman's lunch, or a cheeseboard at the end of your meal, the cheese has come straight from the fridge and a lot of the taste isn't there.
