I hear myself saying to people when they are going really slow or just not listening that they are like a 'Fart in a trance'. I was just wondering how this phrase came about and am I using it in the correct context. I am from Yorkshire so dont know if it's just a Yorkshire phrase. Any suggestions??

'Trance' is just yet another variant on the original 'colander'. Click here for previous answers to this question.
Well it's certainly not just a Yorkshire phrase, I live on the Isle of Wight, but am married to a Devon man and he uses it all the time. So did his mother. Actually I think it's a lovely phrase, and so apt!
