Apparently, a nearby villa is still being searched & a man is being questioned by police, but as yet no arrests have been made. They've just shown a picture of him & he looks like your average bloke, but as you've mentioned Huntley, so did he! They also showed his Mother, an ex-pat, talking to a reporter & she seems okay too, but you never know....
Let's hope to God there's nothing sinister about what's currently going on there & that she'll be reunited with her family soon....

Speculating? I like others, are just posting details of the latest update....I also said I hope nothing sinister will become of this & hopefully there won't be.
We all know any relevant news will be made public in time, but this is what's going on now & we are allowed to talk about it.....
Anyway, thanks again for the link divegirl. Nite, nite.

I agree. I understand peoples concerns and can see why people are interested in any news that does come up. I've been looking myself because of course I wish her to be returned safe and well, I just don't see what asking if it could be another Ian Huntely achieves other then fear and panic. I'm not trying to cause an arguement, I just think we should wait to see what happens before we start filling our minds with could be's.
Enough is enough. If this girl is found dead, are you lot going to go over there and place you cuddly stuffed animals, plastic flowers, and condolence cards upon a "living" shrine close to where she is found. I really think that there is too much vicarious interest in this situation.
PS: I do hope that she is somehow returned safe and sound.

Sorry stewy...didn't mean to offend your sensitive and sunny disposition!!!! This is the first time I have posted on a 'Maddie' thread....and up until now I was still in the minority that believed this to be a public site where one can post ones opinion and leave information for others. AND......I believe the old sayining to be true....if the post doesn't interest you.....GO READ ANOTHER ONE!!!!!

I agree with Stewey, whilst I obviously want her to be found safe and well the media hype and public "interest" is ridiculous. Are we going to do this every time a child goes missing?
The constant media attention is doing NOTHING to help, and spam e mails, footballers wearing yellow wristbands etc etc is doing what exactly?? The key to all of this in Portugal not here.

Jim - The other thing was Everton players wearing t shirts and Everton fans with a banner saying "Bring our Maddie back". I'm not condoning them for it but do people honestly think that it is going to help one iota towards bringing her back?
The police should be left to get on with it, in hindsight reporting restrictions probably would have been a better option instead of whipping up mass hysteria a couple of thousand miles away.

Divegirl, my post is not directed at you, sorry if you thought that. I was merely stating my opinion, as you yourself say in your response. My last line does say that I hope is found safe and sound. However, I stand by my view that there is too much public and media hysteria surrounding this extremely unfortunate situation. It's almost akin to the fiasco that occurred world-wide when Princess Diana died
