xp with sp2

I remember reading somewhere that it is possible to make up a copy of windows xp wth service pack2 included,I have to format my 250GB hard drive & need sp2 on my boot disc because xp doesnt recognise the whole thing.Help!

You are right, you can slipstream sp2 onto an installation disc of XP.
The link below is a good explanation of how to do it step by step. It is a bit tedious but not difficult. Just make sure you type carefully.

thats great thanks.i must admit it looks way too complex for me tho,ill just live with only using half my hard drive.

I thought there was a possibility that you would say that. There are still two other options.
They are both at the bottom of the page in this link.
One is 'Enable LBA Tool', which will download a tool to enable 48 bit LBA support.
The second is also on this page and that is to download the Maxtor Big Drive Enabler

Finally, in case I start to bore you - a third method is to install XP. If it doesn't recognise the remainder of your hard drive, install SP2, then extend the c: drive to the remainder of the hard drive, or simply give it the designation d: and have two drive letters on the same physical drive - that's what I have done with one of mine simply because 130 Gb is enough for the operating system and programs and I didn't want data on the same drive.

To reclaim your lost drive space, right click on My Computer >Manage >Disk Management.
Select the free space, right click and select Format. It will ask you to select a drive letter etc.
