Hi, my female chinchilla gave birth to 3 adorable kits 3 days ago, since then she has been beating the living daylights out of the male, is this normal? I have separated them, the female and kits have the full room while the male is in the cage (still in the same room) but the female is literally seeking the male so she can attack him, the kits have shelter from this onslaught but occassionally one is in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets trampled, I'm worried for the kits and the male as he just looks depressed and is off his food. Can anyone help?
