Five boys of different ages 6 to 10 live in adjacent houses numbered 6 to 10 . Each has some sweets in their pocket . There are humbugs , acid drops and jelly beans , numbering 6 to 10 for each of the 3 types . Each of the 5 numbers ( 6 to 10 ) applies to each boy once only , and each boy has a different number for age , house and 3 sweet varieties .
Andrew lives at house 9 , has 6 humbugs and 8 acid drops .
Alistair has 8 jelly beans and 10 acid drops .
Michael has 9 humbugs .
Paul , who is not 8 years old has the same house number as the number of acid drops in Kevin's pocket
1 . How old is Kevin ?
2 . How many jelly beans are in Kevin's pocket ?
3 . When and why did jelly babies change their name ?.
