Morning All,

I'm without a kitchen this week so this means the only sink in the house is in the bathroom.

Should you drink water from the bathroom? I always thought that this was not a good idea but my housemate keeps assuring me I won't get dysentry (sp). I'm not convinced.

Cheers

I think a lot of houses these day don't have water tanks, my last two houses had all water straight off the mains with no tank!!

China, if you have a tank it will be in the loft/roof space, big square thing usually and wrapped in insulation.

No... hang on.... Actually, I have an emersion tank...

Sod this for a laugh... I'm getting bottled water tonight.
all you need is a filter jug - we have one even in the kitchen (just in case)

But if it's only going to be a few days, I suppose brushing your teeth in Perrier is cheaper
oh I'm on about emersion, wheres my water tank then??
jno, I have fished loads dead rats and pigeons out of water tanks, would you be happy that a filter jug is going to take that taste away?
the water tank is for the boiler and leads to the hot tap, the cold is from the mains.
Not necessarily - if you have a combi heating system, the chances are that all your water is coming straight from the mains, if not your cold water in the kitchen will always come from the mains but the cold water in your bathroom may or may not come from the mains, it may come from a tank in the loft which as ratter pointed out could have all sorts in it - when you brush your teeth, you use a minimal amount of water and it is unlikely to do you any harm, but would not really be good for drinking. Your hot water will pass throuigh a hot water tank fed either from the mains or your cold water tank in the loft. If you have a combi system you will not have a hot water tank.

I'm so f ucking confused.

Excuse the swearies but that's how I feel.

I'm definitely buying bottled.
I would if I were you - All our cold water comes from the mains, but old habits die hard and I still take a bottle of water up at night in case I am thirsty or the kids need a drink. Hope your kitchen gets sorted out soon.
useful fact from the telly last night: every time you drink a glass of water it contains at least one moluecule that went through Oliver Cromwell's bladder.
