liking someone!

Heya, right heres the thing, me and my ex and a couple of our mates hang around together! the point is i love my ex still but i have started really liking his mate(who just so happens to look like my ex and act like my ex) But i know his mate wouldn't go out with me as age gets in the way(of everything) i dont know if he likes me(but i have heard from a few people including my ex that he does) i cant get this fella out of my head, i dont know if i should tell him i like him, or try just forget bout him!

Tough call: on principle i am a big believer in telling ppl you like them- otherwise what is the point?, but you have to ask yourself do you like him for him, or because he is like your X? Also, if he won't date you because of age difference then i say tell him to go to hell and find someone new.
However if you like him for him and it isn't set in stone that he won't date you, then i say flirt and see what happens. If your X gets mad or he doesn't bite then you have a new problem, but some answers.
