Should religion be dumped?
45 Answers
As the existence of a god was thought up in more primitive times to explain things that people were unable to understand at that time, is it not time that we all agreed that we have outgrown it, and put it behind us with all the other superstitions?
Is there any other unprovable theory that does not bring derision down on its followers?

It's a personal opinion & I can see both sides of the coin. Our family is made up of a mixture of faiths, going back years. it's never been much of a problem as we respect each other's opinions, but instead of being labelled a catholic, protestant or whatever, I believe that my children have the right to choose for themselves when they're old enough to make an educated decision. Of COURSE a baptism wouldn't prevent them from having their own ideas, but those who're baptized into a particular faith tend to believe or follow what they're told, and stay with it. Can you see my point?
Should religion be dumped?
I believe so, as in my opinion, religion is man made and is mans' effort to reconcile himself to the God or gods that he is aware he is seperated from.
Hence the elborate costumes and ceremonies, many of which are not merely symbolic, but are believed to hold within them some intrinsic value that will be recognised by whatever deity is being worshipped.
Following religion in that sense, then, is misleading and detracts from a true walk of faith and humility before God, who I believe can only be found in the Person of Jesus Christ.
